This rate is for irrigation pumps that can be shutdown during certain peak days. MGEMC will install a switch that will be activated during the peak hours of 2:00 – 7:00 pm, Mon – Friday on certain peak days. These peak days vary but generally are around ten days per year. The customer is responsible for restarting the load after 7:00 pm. The load being controlled must have a contactor or similar starting device that can be controlled with switch or else they will not qualify for this rate. The switch must remain energized and can not be shutdown by another disconnect.
